I am head over heels for Berlin. However, from the first day we arrived I was not happy with the location of where we were staying. Everything is about an hour away and a lot of planning in involved whenever we want to go anywhere. It is like living in the inner suburbs of a city. The only thing that has eased this minor pickle is the majestic public transportation.
Boston’s public transit is not the best and is not the worst but being 50 min away from everything here makes me appreciate the fact that all the transit lines are easily accessible, punctual, clean and overall efficient. As you can tell, I am mesmerized. Our lives, Berliners’ lives, revolve around our commute. Our journey and destination. The majority of my days here have relied on the transportation, when I am not walking. It isn’t just the present of the transit that I am so curious and obsessed with, but also the history, as with everything in Berlin.
